Hello, I am Dr. Nicole Derish.
I believe in a warm, pragmatic approach in which patients' own experience & expertise deeply inform my clinical recommendations.
I am a double board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. My specialties are women's mental health, parenting, & invisible disabilities. In addition to my private practice I am voluntary faculty at the University of Miami.
After receiving my General Psychiatry degree from Mount Sinai Beth Israel, I trained in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Miami. While at Miami, I helped grow its Perinatal Psychiatry Clinic as well as work with the OBGYN Department on patient care & research in women's heath. I also worked as a psychiatrist at The Motherhood Center of New York treating pregnant and postpartum people in outpatient and partial hospitalization settings. I have received additional education in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am a native speaker of both Spanish & English.
Above all, I strive to give patients all of the support they need to make the best decisions for themselves & their families.

Our first visit will be a review of your current struggles, previous medical history & treatments, & various elements of your life story. It can be the start of our treatment together or a helpful second opinion to your established care. I do NOT participate in any insurance plans and am considered an “Out-of-Network Provider.” By not relying on insurance for payment, I am able to offer a superior level of care to my clients in terms of the duration and frequency of appointments, and more importantly, in the flexibility of shaping individual treatment plans to best suit my clients’ individual needs. Many of my patients collect partial reimbursement from their insurance companies as part of their generous out-of-network benefits.
